Consequences of an Invalid Certificate

In accordance with the requirements of the national Product Quality Law, an expired Explosion-Proof Certificate is deemed invalid. The product can no longer be manufactured or sold. Equipment using an expired Explosion-Proof Certificate may face legal risks.

No Annual Inspection Required, but Attention to Changes

An Explosion-Proof Certificate does not require an annual inspection during its validity period. However, if the equipment's explosion-proof grade, structure, or materials are altered, or its original explosion-proof performance is changed due to maintenance or renovation within the validity period, it is necessary to reapply for explosion-proof certification and obtain a new certificate.

Standard Updates

Explosion-proof standards are updated irregularly. Even if the certificate remains valid, if there are major changes to the product standards, re-testing or evaluation in accordance with the new standards may be required to ensure continuous compliance.

Differences from Other Certifications

It should be noted that the Explosion-Proof Certificate is primarily used to confirm that equipment meets the requirements of explosion-proof standards. It applies to non-mining electrical and non-electrical equipment (excluding products in the Explosion-Proof CCC Catalog) used in locations with explosive gases and dust, and its certification model is product type testing.

For electrical equipment included in the Explosion-Proof Compulsory Certification (CCC) Catalog, it is necessary to apply for Explosion-Proof CCC certification. Its certification model is "type test + factory inspection", and annual supervision factory inspections are required every year during the certificate's validity period.

For explosion-proof equipment used in underground coal mines, it is necessary to apply for the Coal Safety Certification (MA Certification). Its certification model is also "type test + factory inspection", and annual supervision reviews are required.
